Who am I?
My name is Gobika and this is my blog! I’m of Sri Lankan heritage and live in Kent, UK.
My journey as a vegetarian started in 2004 when I made the decision to become a pescatarian (someone who adds seafood to a vegetarian diet). 2 years later in 2006 I became a lacto-ovo vegetarian (dairy products and eggs) and have not looked back since.
I love to travel, meet new people and most importantly eat!
Journey of a vegetarian
I’ve been fortunate enough to do a fair bit of travelling over the years and hence where the name “Journey of a Vegetarian” came from.
I used to struggle to find places to eat where I actually had more than one vegetarian option to choose from. Fortunately for me, vegetarianism and veganism has kicked off and more and more restaurants are trying to cater specifically for this population. The idea of this blog is to share with everyone my reviews on the different restaurants I visit in London, Kent, around the UK and (fingers crossed) around the world🌍!
I have split my reviews in to a few main sections-
- Restaurants that have vegetarian options
- Restaurants with a dedicated vegetarian menu and,
- Vegetarian restaurants
Each restaurant I review will have the following rating
(Out of 5)
Atmosphere🌍: Taking in to consideration, the decor, views, how cramped the restaurant is etc.
Service👨🏽🍳: How attentive the waiters were, how friendly the staff was and how the food was presented
Value💰: Was this restaurant worth the price I paid (The more💰 the better!)
Food🌶: How tasty the food was
Overall rating⭐:the more stars the more likely it is i will be visiting again!
When you love to eat you also need to know how to cook.
I have tried and tested some recipes and would also like to share these in the hope I inspire you all to get your aprons out!
If you think you are a reputable supplier or baker and would like me to share your details on my site or Instagram, drop me a message.
